PvP in Anarchy: how to win fights
In MYPEX, fights aren't won by clicking fast, but by timing. Let's look at how a hit works, which weapon to choose and what to take with you.
The meter under your crosshair
After every hit, a meter fills up under your crosshair. Each weapon has its own speed: 0.25 seconds for a fist, 0.625 for a sword, 1 second for an axe and 1.67 for the War Maul. Hit too early and the blow comes out weaker. Wait for the meter to fill.
Crits, run-ups and reach
A critical hit only happens while you're falling: jump and strike on the way down. A hit with a run-up knocks back harder. You can reach an enemy from 3 blocks away. After a hit, the target is protected for half a second: a stronger hit during that time only deals the difference. An axe doesn't pierce armor.
War Maul
The slowest weapon, but a hit from above hits harder. After every hit that lands, the maul goes on a 30-second cooldown, and a killing blow leaves the enemy with 6 health points — you'll have to finish them off with something else.
War Pike
The pike strikes with a lunge: right-click into the air to reach a target up to 5 blocks ahead. A killing lunge leaves the enemy with 2 health points. Sword enhancements can be applied to the pike.
Wings
Wings on your back let you glide, and a rocket gives you a 3-second boost. Higher ranks get the /fly command, but only while wearing wings and not in combat.
Enhancements and charms
Weapon and armor enhancements are won on the Cutter's reel at spawn: you stake experience and pick the shelf yourself — weapon, armor, tool, bow, crossbow or harpoon. That's also where you apply an enhancement to an item. Charms are held in your off hand and add to your stats. The Last Breath Charm saves you from death, but only if it's in your off hand.
Flasks and ranged combat
Flasks with effects can be drunk or thrown at an enemy. For ranged combat there's the bow, the crossbow and the harpoon.
Combat rules
A hit tags both players for 30 seconds: leaving the game during that time means dying, and your items drop. Where fighting is allowed, a teleport only works after a countdown. You can't fight on the spawn square. The winner gets 5% of the loser's coins, and you can put a bounty on someone's head — /bounty.
