No blood, new faces

Three days before a big update: blood left the game, old monsters got new bodies, and you can now delete your account right from “Profile”. On October 16 all of this reached players together with the previous week's work.

No blood

On October 12 came a short “remove the blood” — meaning the red splatter on hits, everywhere. Hits are still visible: instead of droplets there's now dark dust and a white spark. We did it with a switch, not by ripping it out — if we ever decide to bring it back, one line is enough.

“Redo them”

On October 13 we took a fresh look at the old monsters. The client drew some of them as boxes of a single color, and the verdict was blunt: “the zombies are just disgusting… redo them.” In a single morning, the night creatures and three bosses got new bodies.

The Snarer became rusty black, with amber chevrons on its abdomen and eight red eyes. Each of its legs has two joints, so it stands “on tiptoe” with its knees sticking up above its back. The Goggler isn't a recolor but a separate beast: blue-black, with two venom sacs and spikes along its spine. The Aspic now looks like an aquarium: a transparent shell of eight panels with a core inside that has a face and bubbles. The core turns toward its target while the shell stays put, and before a jump it crouches and flattens out. The Herbwife has a green warty face, a four-tiered hat with a curled tip and a belt of flasks.

The three bosses changed the most. Rockbreaker was a four-legged mountain of gray slabs with no face — it became a two-legged basalt giant with stone fangs on its hump, a mask-face with slits of lava, a furnace in its belly and a sledgehammer in its hand. Chaos Wanderer was a pile of cubes — it became a figure in a torn cloak with a pointed hood, and behind its back a ragged window opens into the starry void, wider than the wanderer itself. The Crimson Slasher turned from a red box with horns into an executioner in crimson armor, with a pot helm with a burning slit and a huge axe. Each has five combat poses: a swing, a ground slam, a roar, a spell and a volley.

Three bosses from four angles: old models on the left, new ones on the right — Rockbreaker, Chaos Wanderer and the Crimson Slasher.
Rockbreaker, Chaos Wanderer and the Crimson Slasher: left — how it was, right — since October 13. Rockbreaker and Chaos Wanderer were redrawn once more on October 22, so for them this is a work-in-progress shot.

Zombies and skeletons were redrawn that same morning too, but those models never reached players: on October 15 a different option was chosen for them. What remains of the morning's work in the game is the bow as part of the skeleton model — you can see it raise the bow and the drawn string tremble.

Delete your account — from the game

“Profile” got a “Delete account” option. The game asks for your password, then asks you to type the word “DELETE” — so you can't press it by accident. Then you get two weeks to think it over: sign in with your password on any of those days and the deletion is canceled, and the game tells you so plainly. Before you confirm, the game honestly warns you that your remaining platinum will burn. A clan owner's account isn't deleted until the clan is handed over or disbanded — or while the player has lots or bids at the auction. We taught the game to delete accounts without a password, through Telegram, a bit later — on October 20.

All of it — in fifteen languages

On October 14 more than twenty parallel pieces of work and a big translation branch were merged into one version of the game. All the new things of the past two weeks — “Ideas and bugs”, bidding, raids, the charm farm, the minimap, account deletion and the phone buttons — were translated into all fifteen languages by the evening.

And on October 16 all of it reached players in one big update. At that time only Anarchy was running on the server: a player went straight to the spawn map on joining. What happened next is already in the day-by-day diaries.
