The Powder Keg blows up for real

On the morning of October 21 an update went to the server with Telegram sign-in and the shared menu — and with monsters that got more dangerous. And over the next two days waypoints got their own window, events got nine new structures, and items got nearly three hundred new icons.

The fuse

Until now the Powder Keg only walked around: it couldn't explode. On October 18 we decided to rework the monsters: make them more noticeable, prettier and more dangerous, each with its own move. For the Powder Keg the question was direct: does it hurt or does it break? The answer: “It breaks blocks, like TNT.”

Now when the Powder Keg gets closer than three blocks to a player, it lights its fuse. You can see it from afar: sparks run from the tail to the barrel, little flames flare up, and you have a second and a half to decide. Hit it with your hand — the fuse goes out. Too slow — an explosion slightly weaker than TNT: it breaks blocks and hurts, and claims in Anarchy don't protect against it, just like with TNT. The spawn map and the area around the spawn point stay intact. If the Powder Keg hatched from an egg, the egg's owner is responsible for the blast. A Powder Keg that blew itself up gives no coins, no experience and no loot.

New names and light in the dark

Eight creatures got new names: the Cadaver became the Sandshifter, the Keeper of the Deep — the Bellringer, the Spider — the Snarer, the Cave Spider — the Goggler, the Scaleling — the Micaling, the Witch — the Herbwife, the Slime — the Aspic, and the Bandit — the Marauder. Their behavior is the same — only the names changed, in all fifteen languages.

The zombie, the sandshifter, the drowned, the skeleton, the stray and the bogged now have glowing eyes and seams — a cold blue that doesn't fade in the dark. At night and in caves, that's now the first thing you see. The glow only exists in Anarchy. The Magpie's sack seam glows, and the Thunderhead's rift in its cloud.

On October 22 the Shrike and the Powder Keg itself got brand-new bodies from scratch, and the dungeon bosses Rockbreaker and Chaos Wanderer got another rework.

Waypoints you can manage

On computers you could place waypoints but not delete them, and on phones you couldn't manage them at all. Now the K key — or tapping the minimap on a phone — opens the “Waypoints” window. In it you can place a waypoint where you stand, change the map view and zoom, recolor a waypoint by clicking its colored square, hide it with a checkmark and delete it with a cross. Deleting takes a second press within three seconds, so you don't erase a waypoint by accident.

Event structures

World event stashes used to look like three to five bare boxes. Now each of the nine has its own structure of a hundred to nearly seven hundred blocks: the Cache Grove, the Blood Altar, the Giant Mushroom, the Dark Casket, the Fallen Star, the Ghost Ship, the Fortress Tower, the Ancient Labyrinth and the Signal Cache.

Icons and tidy pockets

Nearly three hundred item icons were redrawn. And items that did nothing and only took up space in the catalog left the game: banner patterns, pottery sherds, music discs, bundles and dozens of other small things. Finding what you need got easier.

During these days the phone apps went off to the stores for review — we'll tell you when you can download them.

In the game. The Powder Keg's fuse, the new names and the glow — since October 21. The “Waypoints” window, event structures, new models, icons and the catalog cleanup — since October 23.
