Hits you can feel, and new voices
A mob used to turn red, fly back and run in place when you hit it, and it never felt like you had actually landed a hit. We redid hitting from scratch, and while we were at it, we replaced the sounds that got on your nerves.

The hit
- A mob you hit freezes for a moment and flashes white, then turns pink instead of staying red for a long time.
- It leans away from the hit with its whole body, like a training dummy, and springs back, and its legs no longer run in place.
- The camera shakes a little. If that bothers you, turn off Screen shake in the settings.
- Normal hits and crits now have soft sounds of their own.
Rewards drop at your feet
Coins and XP no longer hang in the air as a label. A number with a coin or XP bottle icon pops out of the mob or block, falls to the ground, bounces a couple of times and flies to you. That's how coins and XP for gathering and for mobs look in Plots.
New sounds
- Jumping, soft and hard landings, getting into water and swimming strokes now play new, calm recordings.
- Mobs and animals step on the block under their feet the way you do: grass sounds like grass, stone like stone.
- Cows, pigs, chickens and sheep got new voices, both when they talk and when you hit them.
- The Plots gremlins have a voice of their own instead of a zombie's or a sheep's.
- Crops break with their own sound instead of a wood sound.
- We listened to the voices of every mob and turned off 115 recordings that sounded bad. In their place, monsters got new voices: zombies, sandshifters, snarers, gogglers, micalings, drowned and others.
Game sounds are on from the start in the Hive and in Plots. In other modes, turn on Game sounds in the settings.
